Regulatory Compliance & Safety

Project-specific approvals, engineering evidence and responsible operation.

Updated 24 September 2026

Terms · Privacy · Safety & compliance
01. Company identity and scope

PRODRIVE EV LABS LTD is a Ghanaian private limited company incorporated on 9 June 2025, registration CS133080625, with automotive research and development and engineering services as its stated business activity.

Company incorporation is separate from a vehicle approval, electrical contractor qualification, product certification or permission to operate a charging installation. Any project-specific certificate must identify its issuer, scope, configuration and validity.

02. Vehicle conversion and road use

Ghana’s DVLA provides a physical-conversion process involving the owner’s application, vehicle details and inspection. A project must establish the appropriate route for the actual modification, registration records, roadworthiness and intended use. A conversion image or component certificate does not approve the completed vehicle.

The assessment should cover the donor vehicle, structural condition, mass and axle loads, braking, steering, ground clearance, battery mounting and retained safety functions. Required approval and insurance actions must be resolved before public-road use.

03. Charging, electrical and energy installations

The Energy Commission’s November 2025 notice requires prior approval for EV charging and battery-swap installations and operations in Ghana. Confirm the current application requirements and applicable Ghana Standards with the Commission for the proposed installation.

Premises wiring must follow applicable electrical wiring requirements and use appropriately certified personnel. Grid connection, protection, earthing, inspection, fire precautions and site permissions must be addressed for the actual charging, storage or solar project.

04. Electrical, thermal and mechanical risk

A project safety plan should identify hazardous energy, safe isolation, verification of absence of voltage, access controls, protective equipment and emergency arrangements. Component selection must address insulation, protection, interlocks, contactors, precharge, monitoring and fault response where applicable.

Battery packaging requires a configuration-specific assessment of electrical limits, thermal behaviour, enclosure and mounting, vibration, environment and service access. Mechanical integration must account for motor and gearbox interfaces, mounts, rotating parts, braking assistance and cooling. These are verification topics, not proof that every illustrated configuration has passed testing.

05. Engineering evidence and release

Requirements, drawings, component data and configuration records should remain traceable through design reviews, installation, test and handover. The agreed verification plan should state test conditions, acceptance criteria and the evidence required before release.

Model-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop work can support development at different stages. A simulation result does not replace inspection or physical validation. Open issues, operating limits and remaining approvals must be visible at handover.

06. Standards and certification claims

Applicable standards are selected for the product, jurisdiction and agreed scope. A reference to ISO 6469, UN Regulation No. 100 or another engineering standard is not a claim that ProDrive EV Labs Ltd or every conversion has certification under it.

Ask for the specific declaration, test report or approval applicable to your order. The scope and configuration must match the supplied equipment; marketing renders, supplier logos and unrelated test certificates are not substitutes.

07. Operation, service and end of life

Operators need the agreed instructions, charging limits, maintenance schedule, fault indications and emergency contacts. Stop using equipment if there is an unexpected safety warning, damage, overheating or suspected battery fault; use qualified assistance rather than bypassing protection.

Damaged or end-of-life batteries need suitable storage, transport and authorised disposal or recovery arrangements. Do not place traction batteries in ordinary waste or arrange unassessed transport. Responsibility and instructions should be included in the project handover.

08. Report a concern or request evidence

Contact info@pev-labs.com with the product or project reference and the concern. Avoid sharing confidential personal records through public channels. For an immediate emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service and follow the equipment’s emergency instructions.

For commercial terms and information handling, see our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
